Các lỗi hầm bà làng của HP Webcam của HP Laptop đã trở nên nổi tiếng toàn thế giới, nó làm cho laptop của bạn không sử dụng được Webcam trong bất cứ ứng dụng nào như YM. Lúc được lúc mất như ma, báo các loại lỗi, lên mạng search thì bọn tây cũng kêu oai oái ... Chính vì lỗi này mà tớ bị ức chế từ khi mua con Envy15 (1 năm rùi), hôm rồi quyết tâm xử lý ... dẫn đến 2 ngày đêm không ngủ ... format C 3-4 lần !!! Sau rồi giời thương, đã xử lý xong mà máy chạy nhanh chưa từng thấy (vì bỏ các phần mềm HP loằng ngoằng, bỏ phân vùng RECOVERY ...).
Kinh nghiệm là cứ kiên trì tham khảo Support của HP, lỗi gây ra là qua 1 thời gian sử dụng, Win7 đã không còn nhận ra Webcam nên các ứng dụng như YM không kết nối được ... tớ đoán thế hi hi. ==> phải xử lý driver cho Win nhận được, cách làm như sau:
Uninstall trình chơi Webcam của nhà sản xuất (của tớ là HP MediaSmart Webcam).
Click Start, type Device Manager, and select Device Manager from the list provided.
Double-click Imaging Devices to expand the list of webcam drivers (HP Webcam).
If more than one webcam driver is listed, right-click the driver and select uninstall for any driver that is not the HP Webcam or Microsoft USB Video Device driver.
Double-click Imaging Devices to expand the list of webcam drivers, right-click the webcam driver, and then select Properties.
Make a note of the existing name of the webcam driver (Example: HP Webcam), as it may change after the update.
On the Webcam Properties window, select Update Driver... .
When prompted, select the option to Browse the computer for desired driver.
When prompted, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer option.
De-select the Show compatible hardwarecheckbox, then select Microsoft in the Manufacturer pane, and select USB VideoDevice in the Model pane, and then click Next to install the desired webcam driver.
Allow the installation of the USB Video Device, and then click Close.
View the Imaging devices option in the Device Manager to verify the presence of a webcam driver.
Make a note that the name of the updated webcam driver (Example: USB Video Device), may be different that the original file.

Cũng đếk xong được --- lại như cũ ==> cài lại firmware và HP Video Driver / kiên trì tháo lắp pin lúc được rồi mất hẳn ??? quyết định mai đưa đi Bệnh viện Care 12 Trần Đại Nghĩa, thấy cậu kỹ thuật nói khả năng phải mổ máy thay WC ==> từ giờ đến mai cứ tháo lắp pin xem sao --- hic giờ lại được ==> không đụng chạm gì nữa để theo dõi xem ?! Có điều tính năng Light Sensor chắc mất rồi, màn hình không thấy điều chỉnh mà tắt đèn đèn IR của WC cũng không sáng ? để tìm xem có drive của Sensor không!!!
Đi qua "bệnh viện quốc tế - Care" rùi, các kỹ thuật viên cũng đến thế mà thui, nhưng rút ra 1 kinh nghiệm: nên kết nối chat trước khi mở WC thì sẽ không bị lỗi?
The ambient light sensor (ALS) controls the display brightness and the webcam lighting in low-light conditions. The ambient light sensor includes the following features:
● Adaptive brightness
● Webcam infrared (IR) light
The ambient light sensor is enabled by default. To disable or re-enable the ambient light sensor:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Location and Other Sensors.
2. Select the Microsoft Windows ALS Device check box.
Using adaptive brightness
Adaptive brightness automatically adjusts the screen brightness when the lighting conditions change. In low-light conditions, adaptive brightness automatically decreases the display brightness. As surrounding light increases, the display brightness level increases accordingly.
Adaptive brightness is enabled by default. To disable or re-enable adaptive brightness:
NOTE: The ambient light sensor must be enabled to use the adaptive brightness feature.
1. Select Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.
2. Click Change plan setting, and then click Change advanced power settings.
3. Click the plus sign next to Display, and then click the plus sign next to Enable adaptive
brightness.
4. Change the settings as needed, and then click Apply.
5. Click OK.
Using the webcam IR light
The webcam IR light improves the webcam picture quality in low-light conditions. The webcam IR light turns on automatically when lighting conditions are very low. When the light conditions return to normal, the webcam IR light turns off automatically.
The webcam IR light behaves in the following ways:
● Normal lighting conditions—There will be no low light compensation and the webcam IR light will not be activated.
● Low light conditions—The Low Light Compensation function is activated and the picture quality improves.
● Extreme low light or zero light conditions—The webcam IR light is activated. This allows the
webcam to operate in dark environments. Pictures are in black and white.
The webcam IR light is enabled by default. To disable or reenable the webcam IR light:
1. Select Start > All Programs > HP > HP MediaSmart > HP MediaSmart Webcam.
2. In HP MediaSmart Webcam, select Settings > Display > Advanced Settings, and then click the Camera Control tab.
3. Select the Low Light Compensation check box, and then click Apply.
4. Click OK.

HP has investigated the matter regarding some ENVY 15 webcams having a dark blue or purple tint. The ENVY 15 has an ambient light sensor (ALS) that controls the display brightness and webcam lighting in low-light conditions. The adaptive brightness feature is what controls display brightness and the webcam InfraRed (IR) lights help prevent fuzzy, ghost-like images in dark or low light conditions. In dark or low light conditions, the webcam may produce images that appear dark blue or purple. It’s normal for a webcam with this technology to show images that appear dark blue or purple. An investigation and further testing shows the webcam is operating as designed. To better tune a webcam for brighter light conditions, you can do one or more of the following:
Disable the ambient light sensor (enabled by default):
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Location and Other

NOTE: Disabling the ambient light sensor will cause the display to no longer automatically adjust to low and bright light conditions.

NOTE: Disabling the webcam IR lights will cause display images to appear darker in low light conditions. The webcam IR lights are also available on other webcam programs. Refer to the software Help for additional information.

One other option is to uninstall the ambient light sensor program by following the steps below:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Locate the HP Webcam ALSMON application Installer Package… item and use
the Uninstall option to remove this program.
3. Restart the system.
Below is a link to some key highlights of the ENVY 15 that mention the adaptive brightness and IR LED features.
This document mentions a specific model (ENVY 15-1150NR), but the adaptive brightness and IR LED features apply to all ENVY 15 Series models.
If the dark blue or purple tint appears when the system is in sunlight or florescent light conditions, the camera may need to be serviced and you should call or chat with HP tech support.
